"UNKNOWN POWER"
• The series, "Unknown Power," was born out of an experience I had  in Sedona, which I visited in early 2019. As I was meditating at Bell Rock, one of Sedona's powerful vortexes, I experienced a vision of a huge circle of light spreading across the sky. It was golden and shining with high vibrational energy, and it was approaching me, emitting rays of light. I couldn't and cannot define what this circle of light was - a dream, an illusion, a divine being, a spirit existing in this land, or something else.
What we usually perceive as "knowing" is only a small part of the whole (unknowing).  And if we  only look with what we "know," the world is limited. 
• How much do we humans perceive and recognize about the world, the universe, and ourselves? It is said that only 1-10% of the whole consciousness we possess, we are aware of. The subconscious mind, which is believed to make up the majority of the rest, is said to store unconscious memories, emotions, learned patterns, and even latent abilities beyond our comprehension, but we rarely access it consciously. 
 
• But once we are aware of the unknown, the world is full of entities and phenomena beyond the limits of our perception and recognition. In other words, each of us, every single thing that exists in this world, and the world itself is inherently more diverse, unknown, and full of possibilities than we realize. The unknown, beyond the limits of what we "know," has a powerful energy all of its own.

Yuiko Ráyka 來迦結子
Japanese Contemporary Installation Artist from Tokyo
• Yuiko Ráyka is a Japanese contemporary artist, born and currently lives in Tokyo, Japan.
 
• Her body of work focuses on the unknown potentials and latent abilities within each of us as human beings, and our evolving spirit towards a new era. Inspired by her own interdimensional experiences, her works are multidimensionally expressed through installations that emphasize on perceptual experiences, using physical and non-physical materials in mixed media, installation, light art, and new media such as generative AI, VR, NFTs, and the Metaverse.
 

• Graduated from Kyoto Seika University, Faculty of Art, BFA in painting in 2003. Studied at the Australian National University School of Art & Design, majoring in Gold & Silversmithing as an exchange student in 2001 - 2002. During her student days, she was exposed to a variety of materials and tried her hand at expression through two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and installation works.


• In 2004 she moved to Germany and worked as a graphic designer at a video production company in Dusseldorf. Upon returning to Japan, she started her career as an illustrator in 2010 (under a different name). Her works have been used for the cover of the paperback edition of Sayaka Murata's "Hoshi ga sū mizu" (Kodansha), NHK TV program character design, fashion brand "deep sweet easy", Excel Hotel Tokyu guest room artwork, and stage art etc.


• In 2014, this accumulation established her unique artistic expression, and she began to create works interdisciplinary as an artist.


• Her recent exhibitions include "SELFVERSE" (London Art Fair, 2024), "NFFT2023 Generative AI New Future Fashion x Technology" (SHIBUYA PARCO, Tokyo, 2023), "MUSIC IS・SELFVERSE" (Art Yī, Brussels, 2023), “Beautiful World” Exhibition (Kawamura Noh-Theater, Kyoto, 2022), " SELFVERSE: Sparkling Heart (CONTEXT Art Miami, 2022), and "SOUL GEMS META" (Kyoto, 2022).
