Art of Glass & Mixed-media

In constant mouvement...

A multitude of invisible, intangible energies surround us in our daily lives.

How can we bring out and translate what lies behind the scenes, behind the mirror? It is to answer these questions that Fabienne Decornet has explored themes in constant motion: Light, line, shimmer, serenity, lightness, fluidity in a transparent and vibratory space.

To achieve this, the Lille-based artist weaves connections to bring together glass, fabric, and paper, which she considers complementary. The highly experienced artist emphasizes the importance of not losing the thread. It's a matter of stability, construction, and precise elaboration, she says.

For some years now, she has been following her thread and weaving her interpretation of the world and its realities into mobile installations that evoke the textile weave. According to her, yesterday's thread is the foundation to continue tracing the path. She presents an airy, graphic, and powerful work in colors.

Poetry and elegance are her watchwords. Her works are the result of the enthusiasm and overflowing energy she possesses.

Biography
French Artist creating unique interior design
Fabienne Decornet received her education in visual arts, textile arts, and contemporary dance in Belgium (Brussels). She also embarked on numerous journeys that complemented her creative endeavors, including trips to Morocco, Austria, Egypt, Czechoslovakia, and across Europe.

The introduction of glass into her work came later, following various encounters. The work with these three elements—glass, textile, and paper—initially developed independently. Initially through collaborations with businesses, and later through research into textile collections and design. Subsequently, a shared understanding and language based on the complementarity and fusion of these elements allowed for the creation of works that combine all three materials. To highlight this fusion of materials, Fabienne Decornet organizes mobile structures and installations, enabling the artworks to be illuminated by light and to traverse the space themselves.

Her aerial installations, symbolizing the textile weave, are always accompanied by a crucial painting process, essential to her artistic evolution. She engages in reinterpreting history, shocks, and collisions, decoding and reconstructing them.

Her work involves the study of space, light, movement, and its vibrations. She also works in the fields of design and interior decoration, particularly for public spaces, and regularly leads the development, creation, and implementation of educational projects in the realm of visual arts.
