"Autumn Grass" is one of the artist's abstract splash-color series. They express the impression of the lotus pond in abstract language. This artwork is very peaceful, zen and philosophical. These are truly the colors of alchemy and fusion. This painting is an absolutely masterpiece with a very sophistic technique that more than 7 different colors degraded, merged and interacting on multiple layers superimposed on an almost transparent rice paper. The creation, drying and interaction of all layers lasted for 2 months in total. It has something very special and unique. The artist made this painting with great imagination, precision and thoroughness.
Zhang Jinxian brings us an eternal secret pond in which colorful and pure flowers, swaying grasses, dancing insects and swimming fishes, all lives joyfully and determined fight for the arrival of the early autumn.
A dream land of hope is shinning, a wonder place telling its own story...
The artist recalls us the vital element from which lives originated on our earth, in diversity, harmony, togetherness, and freedom... for a unique memory of Asia...
The land of flowers and lives, that might be going to warp beyond the space-time, resembles closely the world seen with half an eye and exists in the boundary of dream and reality.
It combines thoughts and emotions from the past and today, that went out of the frame and out of the ordinary...
With a strong contrast and above all a lot of inspiration and imagination.
The artist’s insight comes initially from WenChuan Earthquake in 2008.
He also hopes to use this series of painting to inspire people during the first breakout of COVID-19 epidemic.
Zhang Jiinxian uses abstract splash color blocks and lines to express a group, an overall feeling and meaning. He avoids the praise of heroes, but inclines to express that the individual and the group are consistent with small differences. He not only acknowledges the existence of heroes, but also agrees with the existence meaning of groups.

Provenance
The reason why the artist chooses abstract expression is to show a concept of group. In this painting, there are not only lotus flowers in the lotus pond, but also various other plants and animals.Today people always pursue to be different to others. Everyone's heroic dreams transcend everything. Zhang Jinxian believes that from the perspective of the universe, life and nature, we as humans are small like ants. No matter how individuals struggle for survival and desire, they are vulnerable and helpless in the face of disasters, just like the Wenchuan earthquake. Through his works, the author hopes that people can keep introspection in pessimism at all times, rather than in optimism and sorrow. The author's inspiration comes from this.

The artwork on rice paper by Zhang Jinxian is unique and impossible to reproduced even in a similar style by the same artist, given the inevitability controls the whole picture and the artistic non-stop creation in full fluidity with conscious and unconscious, also the characteristics of the rice paper that melts in water and the passion of expression make the Chinese painting "chattered" many accidents. From the moment the brush and paper touched, the direction of the brush, the dryness of the brush, and all other influencing factors such as reversal, strength, and length of time the brush stays on the rice paper, the dryness and the density of the ink, unknowable interaction and contingency appear and react continuously.
