These servants are skillfully modeled and sculpted of dense grey pottery and has good detailing.
The lower figure with long hair behind and below the neck (43cm) is a woman, while the higher on (45 cm) is a man.
This pair of figurines are all in white color, with cinnabar embellishment on the front of the clothes, the facial features are portrayed, and the hair is silky. The faces are framed by hair parted in the middle and pulled back into a queue with a loose tail. Both figures wear the traditional long elegant gown of the period which falls gracefully to the floor accentuating the slim silhouette and flaring dramatically at the base level. The figures' arms are joined at the waist hidden within the water sleeves forming a muff effect.
This pair of pottery figurines is full of charm, their expressions are pious and tranquil, and the details are portrayed to the smallest detail, which truly reflects the peak of sculpture art in the Han Dynasty.
There are excellent remains of the white to pink slip and color pigments with red gown borders and dark brown to black accents. There is an excellent patina of age and exposure with encrustations and calcifications. The condition is excellent.
