The artist plays at blurring the sex. He or she has fantastic hair that moves freely like winds and waves, making beautiful, sensual, and free. This is the artist's genius in wandering us through a mysterious and sometimes dreamlike space time.
The image is not portraits of actual person, but idealized characters, goddesses of imagination, a personae of an old story from a mystery.

Provenance

Wang Jojo is a contemporary Chinese artist.
She draws her inspiration for her works from ukiyo-e and yamato-e (Japanese traditional painting styles). Her objective is to find the common aesthetic between Japanese painting of the past and Chinese ancient myth. The artist tries to rediscover what she calls the “East Aesthetics”, which is born naturally from within the woman and a free power that connects the inner "her" and nature.
