Du Fu (712-770), the greatest realist poet in the Tang Dynasty, was revered as China's "Poem Saint". This poem is Du Fu's typical work of "painting with poems". The poet writes sentimental moods in a joyful scene. Only when he speaks the best beauty and harmony of spring, can he contrast th eagerness to home.
This artwork content is excerpted from two phrases in the poem : "Greenish river-water contrasts strikingly with white-feathered birds. Seemingly crimson flowers are setting the verdant mountain on fire."
The artist uses different vivid colors to respectively describe every scene depicted in the poem with a fascinating charm, and repaints the whole landscape as if embedded in a frame. It contrast Du Fu's dim homesickness of "When is the year of return to home".
